Luxembourg (4): action packed queen stage

Luxembourg (4): action packed queen stage

A lot of action during the queen stage of the Skoda Tour de Luxembourg (2.HC). The peloton splitted several times during the first race half because of a strong wind and hilly parcours. Finally the peloton calmed down when four riders formed a breakaway and gained an advantage of more than three minutes. Team Wanty-Gobert, with Yoann Offredo and Kevin Van Melsen, rolled up their sleeves in the peloton.

Jésus Herrada rode solo to the last leaders in the final and resisted to a counterattack group on the finishing Härebierg climb. Andrea Pasqualon finished 10th in the counterattack group and climbs to 5th position in the provisional general classification.

Andrea Pasqualon:

« It was a very hard stage and I gave everything. However, I am dissapointed with my result, because the whole team worked really hard for me all day. Although, most important is that I didn't loose a lot of time and that I am still in the top 5 in the provisional GC. Tomorrow is another day! »

« Tomorrow's stage is printed in my mind since I finished 3rd last year. It will be a hard day again and I dream about winning a stage! A good stage result is logically followed by a good general classification and with a 24 second time gap still a lot is possible... »
