Brussels: Difficult rainy day

The Brussels Cycling Classic (1.HC, 7/09) was ridden at a high pace, after the start in the Jubilee Park at the Baudoin Stadium. A ten man breakaway rode in front of the race for a long time, while the peloton skimmed difficulty after difficulty. Wind, rain and short climbs exhausted the peloton in the final, which finally exploded. Trapped, the Wanty-Gobert riders weren't able to sprint for the victory, won with a small margin by Ewan, ahead of Ackermann and Philipsen.
