Britain (7) - Mark McNally shines in breakaway

Mark McNally performed a solid ride in the breakaway of the sixth stage in the Tour of Britain (2.HC, 02-09/09). Together with Stannard, Politt, Carboni and Paton, our 29-year-old Brit accelerated in the beginning of the undulating and rainy stage between West Bridgford and Mansfield. For McNally it is the 10th participation in the Tour of Britain. The breakaway worked together in an exemplary way and kept the peloton at a distance.

In the difficult final, Paton had to let go first. An attack of Stannard and Politt at 23km from the finish caused McNally getting dropped in front. Still the soon-to-be father kept up and finished before the peloton as fourth after almost 200 kilometers in the attack. Sunday the final criterium (77km) in London is on the program.
