Occitanie (2): A moment of doubt in the sprint for Pasqualon (6th)

The peloton left Carcassonne, knows for its two UNESCO World Heritage classified sites, for a 174.5 kilometer stage towards Cap Découverte. The peloton gave an international sextet an advantage of almost ten minutes during this second stage of the Route d'Occitanie (2.1, 1-4/08). The sprinters team organized the chase to prepare a bunch sprint. Italian sprinter Sonny Colbrelli defeated race leader Bryan Coquard. Andrea Pasqualon finished again close to the podium in 6th place. On Monday, the Port de Balès (19.4km at 6,1%), the Col de Peyresourde (9.7km at 7.6%) and the Col de Beyrède (11km at 7.2%) are awaiting the riders.

Andrea Pasqualon:

« The sprint was difficult because of a head wind. I went through the last corner in a perfect position, but nobody really dared to start the sprint. This moment of doubt was not in my advantage. I hope to do better on Tuesday. »
